Description:
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Head of Accounting and Taxes for our US and India Operations. We are a US headquartered IT services and Products company, with development centre (cost centre) in India. The candidate should be experienced in US accounting and taxes and worked with leading audit firms in the US. In addition, experience managing Accounting and Taxes for a US company's India subsidiary / cost centre is crucial.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Transactions Management: Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately and timely. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Reconcile bank statements and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Financial Reporting to Leadership Team: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Generate financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyse financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Coordinate with tax consultants for tax planning and compliance matters.
- Audit Support: Support external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation. Implement audit recommendations to improve internal controls and processes.
- Regulations Adherence: Stay updated with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements. Ensure adherence to GAAP principles and company policies.
- Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices in accounting processes and procedures.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role in IT industry
- Experience in India Accounting is a must, US accounting would be a plus
- CA or Certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
